Nightmare.

Best part of my job? Its always a sunny day at 35,000 ft. The following describes my life, it's glamour, and the glory of being a flight attendant for a legacy airline. You're jealous... I can tell.

That just happened
A very panicked new hired just called me "m'am". She needed to ask how to get to the parking office.
Welcome to 31 years old, where you are no longer a miss, but m'am.

Intestinal Distress
I made the epic mistake of eating some salad and other airplane food goodies coming home from the Dominican Republic Saturday. I was only good for one day, and was assigned a high time turn no less. Having absolutely nothing in my pantry, I figured I would gorge myself on plane food, which normally doesn't have such lingering consequences. Wrong. Lesson learned. No fresh fruit and veggies washed with tap water in the Caribbean. Lesson learned!

I SAT IN GUM!
An actual announcement I had to make:
"Ladies and gentlemen, as you can see we are all boarded up and ready to depart. However, we are delayed due to chewing gum. We ask that if you are chewing gum to please dispose of it properly as to not delay your flight or others. Thank you."

Work Hard, Playing Harder
I have been back to flying "full time" since November. One of the perks (I suppose?) is the amount of flying is directly proportionate to crew schedule's whims and desires, translating to completing maybe three trips a month.
This does not bode well for the bank account.
I've got three and a half trips (1/2 from last month) thus far, and in an ideal world, hopefully I'll be able to score three more.
For those of you who know me are certainly asking, why the sudden motivation? Because I'm taking three weeks off in April. Clearly for a much needed break ;)
Boyfriend and I are heading to Cinque Terre and the more I keep reading about northern Italy, the more I'd love to go for the whole three weeks! There's Alpine skiing, hiking, food, wine, cooking classes, lakes and mountains and museums to explore. And we all know how I adore church art. I'm most excited about planing and executing the plan together.
Then there's Career Day at my high school which I'm super excited about. My biggest goal is to relay to the HS kiddies that what you do does not define who you are, and to make sure that if work isn't the most fulfilling, then have a passion or a hobby that is. I'm modeling my speech off the finest TED talks, so we'll see how that turns out.
Finally, rounding out the month is a week long getaway with my sister. She has eyes for Barcelona; I kind of was looking forward to Amsterdam. Two places I don't know much about, but to spend the time with her, regardless of destination, will be worth it. Three years ago this week we were in Germany, her first trip to Europe. I'm hoping we can make this an annual thing. I value our relationship and time together. More importantly, giving her the reigns to research and plan what she wants to see and experience. We're two very lucky girls, and I'm thrilled to share this part of my life and bits of the world together.

The weather in Europe...
A few days ago, I was in Madrid where it was 65, sunny, and bright blue skies for miles. I'm currently in Oslo, with a forecasted high of 50 and not a cloud in the sky.
There is more snow home, and Boston for that matter, than in Norway.
No way.
Right side of the pond envy.

Made in Chelsea!!
In Glasgow, it's a beautiful sunny day, and I'm (happily) trapped in a Made in Chelsea marathon.
This show is so absurd. These people meet randomly for two seconds to share points of contention or gossipy bits, and then have a party where they all face them. Make up, break up, blow up, and later throw up because everyone's pissed. Way better than those real housewives...

Made in Chelsea
Many moons ago, on a random UK layover, I stumbled upon this fantastically awful reality show called Made in Chelsea. I watched it all night long, enthralled by the ridiculousness of London socialites parading about. It's certainly not popular in the States, nor have I successfully located it.
Until now.
Turned on Netflix to find my show!! Only seasons 3, 4, and 5 were available, and I kept falling asleep but it was glorious. I was shocked to see how much better the selection was in London compared to home.
I guess I'll just have to fly more ;-)
