I have been back to flying "full time" since November. One of the perks (I suppose?) is the amount of flying is directly proportionate to crew schedule's whims and desires, translating to completing maybe three trips a month.
This does not bode well for the bank account.
I've got three and a half trips (1/2 from last month) thus far, and in an ideal world, hopefully I'll be able to score three more.
For those of you who know me are certainly asking, why the sudden motivation? Because I'm taking three weeks off in April. Clearly for a much needed break ;)
Boyfriend and I are heading to Cinque Terre and the more I keep reading about northern Italy, the more I'd love to go for the whole three weeks! There's Alpine skiing, hiking, food, wine, cooking classes, lakes and mountains and museums to explore. And we all know how I adore church art. I'm most excited about planing and executing the plan together.
Then there's Career Day at my high school which I'm super excited about. My biggest goal is to relay to the HS kiddies that what you do does not define who you are, and to make sure that if work isn't the most fulfilling, then have a passion or a hobby that is. I'm modeling my speech off the finest TED talks, so we'll see how that turns out.
Finally, rounding out the month is a week long getaway with my sister. She has eyes for Barcelona; I kind of was looking forward to Amsterdam. Two places I don't know much about, but to spend the time with her, regardless of destination, will be worth it. Three years ago this week we were in Germany, her first trip to Europe. I'm hoping we can make this an annual thing. I value our relationship and time together. More importantly, giving her the reigns to research and plan what she wants to see and experience. We're two very lucky girls, and I'm thrilled to share this part of my life and bits of the world together.
