I was on the fence for quite some time about whether or not I would be attending Oktoberfest this year. Its one of those bucket list items, something that everyone should experience and I just wasn't sure whether or not I could make it happen. About a week before we left, the instructors had training and were all together for lunch and I had brought the topic up for general discussion. One of my collegues said she'd be more than willing to go. We began researching flight loads, hotel rooms, booked one 24 hours in advance, got on the plane Sunday night and were drowning in Hofbrau liters Monday afternoon. Win.
Oktoberfest and this mini-impromptu vacation was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. A friend of mine recently pointed out that I can fly anywhere, for free. I don't take advantage of this enough, nor do I always keep how ridiculously amazing that is in mind. I'm so thankful for an amazing career that lets me do things like go to Munich for two days and drink my face off. My friend S and I had an amazing time. We drank and went on all the rides Monday, did the Mikes Bikes tour Tuesday (which is a MUST for anyone who's never been), had a few more beers and were back on the plane Wednesday morning. First class both ways, of course!
Just before entering our first tent - and to the left, the best photo bomb EVER
One of my favorite beers on a carousel! Can you even believe it?! A carosel that's a bar?!?!
He was my favorite part about the Hofbrau tent - he just spun round and round
Random Aussies whom with we had beers... Silly Face's favorite show is Jerseylicious...
